Abstract

Medicinal plants have played an important role in maintaining human health and treating various diseases since ancient times. In particular, plants containing biologically active compounds, including alkaloids, are widely used in pharmacology. This abstract highlights the leaves of qoraqovuq and barberry plants, their chemical composition, and their medicinal properties.Qoraqovuq (known in some regions as a medicinal plant) contains alkaloids, flavonoids, and other biologically active substances in its leaves, which have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and sedative effects on the body. This plant is used in traditional medicine for the treatment of various diseases.Barberry (Berberis) is also widely known for its medicinal properties. Its leaves and other parts contain alkaloids such as berberine. Berberine has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immune-strengthening properties. Barberry leaves are used to improve liver function, purify the blood, and regulate the digestive system.Alkaloids are among the most important active compounds in plants, often having strong physiological effects. Therefore, it is important to follow proper dosage and specialist recommendations when using such plants. In conclusion, the alkaloids present in the leaves of qoraqovuq and barberry determine their medicinal value. They are widely used in medicine and traditional healing and may serve as an important source for the development of new drugs in the future.
