In an era of globalization, the effective translation of culturally rich texts is essential for fostering cross-cultural understanding. The Analects, as a cornerstone of Confucian philosophy, contains a wealth of cultural and philosophical terminology that embodies traditional Chinese humanistic values and social ideals. Its accurate interpretation and translation are crucial for the global dissemination of Chinese culture. Despite the existence of over sixty English translations, conveying the original concepts to foreign audiences remains a considerable challenge. Translators must navigate cultural nuances and ensure that the target readers can comprehend and appreciate the depth of the source text. This study examines the translation of culturally unique Chinese terms in The Analects, highlighting the strategies employed to balance fidelity to the original text with accessibility for English readers. By analyzing these approaches, the research contributes to a deeper understanding of cross-cultural translation and underscores the importance of preserving cultural integrity while promoting international comprehension.
