The pressure dependence of the optical-phonon modes of metallic {β}-Sn has been studied up to 9.6 GPa by Raman spectroscopy. Both observed modes shift to higher frequencies under compression, this increase being more distinct for the higher-frequency mode. The experimental results are compared with available theoretical results. The mode Gr\"uneisen parameters have been determined and compared to those of Ge in the {β}-tin phase.
