Why the study?
Focal AT originating from the appendage in pregnant patients can be persistent, refractory, and life-threatening, with traditional strategies such as medications or catheter ablation being limited.
Zero-fluoroscopy 3D mapping combined with thoracoscopic appendage ectomy represents a promising, minimally invasive treatment strategy for pregnant women with life-threatening, refractory focal atrial tachycardia.
May support feasibility in refractory gestational cases; hypothesis-generating and should not yet change practice.
: Focal AT originating from appendage in pregnant patients can be persistent, refractory, and life-threatening; traditional strategies, such as medicine or catheter ablation, are limited in this situation. MDT measures, using a thoracoscopic ectomy and zero-fluoroscopy three-dimensional electroanatomical mapping technique, is minimally invasive and a promising strategy.
