Speculative model proposes energy harvesting structures in cosmic radiation environments, suggesting survival limitations.
This paper presents the Radiobios hypothesis — a speculative but mathematically structured model proposing hypothetical structures capable of harvesting energy from cosmic radiation in high-flux astrophysical environments such as pulsar vicinities and nebulae. A mathematical framework is developed describing energy balance, survival conditions, population dynamics, spatial motion via radiation pressure, evolutionary efficiency, and spectral adaptation. Computational validation using real physical parameters establishes that survival in the interstellar void is thermodynamically impossible at any metabolic state. Survival is feasible only within 4.97 light-years of the Crab Pulsar (PSR B0531+21) at the modelled efficiency. A biological lag of 12.3 days between stellar flare peak and population response is identified as a potentially observable signature. Significant open problems remain: no biochemical mechanism is specified, no mass source for replication exists in vacuum, and the assumed absorption efficiency is many orders of magnitude above known radiolytic processes. The model is presented as a speculative framework requiring further development.Correspondence: publicgmailfor@gmail.com
