Explores lying flat mentality propagation in global labor force, suggesting critical thresholds for social dynamics.
Against the backdrop that artificial intelligence and automation continuously reshape global la-bor patterns, ”lying flat” as a social mentality of voluntarily withdrawing from labor participationbears significant research value in its group propagation law and systemic degeneration risk. Thispaper defines the lying flat phenomenon as a social degenerative phase transition, and constructs aLogistic dynamic evolution model integrating a three-layer weighted social network, circle propor-tional penetration mechanism and cognitive ability disparity barriers. Adopting official data releasedby the International Labour Organization, taking the global total labor force of 3.3 billion as thebenchmark, three scenarios with initial lying flat scales of 5 million, 10 million and 50 million peopleare selected. By introducing the transmission logic that the macro lying flat proportion permeatesindividual circles proportionally, this paper carries out quantitative deduction of time evolution, comparative simulation of cognitive ability disparity and analysis of the asymmetric mechanism ofaspiration and regression. The research shows that the macro social lying flat proportion perme-ates individuals’ three-tier social circles synchronously in probability; cognitive ability disparity canonly delay the diffusion process of lying flat mentality, but cannot resist the assimilation effect oflarge-scale groups; the initial scale of lying flat population is the core factor determining the speedof social degenerative phase transition and system trend; there exists a 50% critical phase transitionthreshold for lying flat degeneration, and once broken through, it presents irreversible avalanche evo-lution. In contrast, constrained by endowment, resources and psychological costs, the evolutionaryprogression of aspiration has an inherent upper limit, unable to form full-population and full-domainphase transition, showing the asymmetric characteristic of easy degeneration and difficult aspirationin social systems. The research can provide theoretical model and quantitative reference for globalsocial mentality governance and labor policy regulation.
