It has become an important supporting technology for both the stable output of Daqing Oilfield and the development improvement of the mature oilfields. In Daqing Oilfield, the polymer flooding annual output has exceeded 10 million tons; water cut reduction rate has been kept 24.8% for 2 years. In the testing blocks, the average incremental oil recovery over waterflooding is 10.99%. To solve emerging problems in the pilot areas, new techniques and processes have been applied. They are:injection of high concentration slug;polymer injection to separate layers;in depth profile modification. The success of these techniques and processes have enlarged the polymer flooding scale year by year and the technology of polymer flooding itself has been improved. The successful experience of Daqing polymer flooding is valuable for polymer flooding technology development in other countries.1 Commercial Polymer Flooding Application EffectWith the uninterrupted maturity of polymer flooding technology and the perfection of matching technical measures, as well as the year-by-year enlargement of the scale of polymer flooding, polymer flooding technology has turned out to be an important support in maintaining the high stable output in Daqing Oilfield and improving the oilfield development level in later high water-cut stage. Unquestionably, the application is successful, and the accumulative output has exceeded 70 million tons. (See Figure 1)1.1Significant effect: steep water-cut drop; significant oil production & recovery rate increase. In respect to the polymer flooding where polymer flooding was conducted in the whole process, the average water-cut drop has reached 24.8%, among which, water-cut drop in eastern area of Bei-2-West has reached 35.2%; average daily single well output in peak efficient period has reached 286 barrels. So compared with pre-polymer situation, daily oil production has increased by 214 barrels, even some producer wells have increased by 714.4 barrels per day; final recovery rate in appraisal areas, compared with water driving, has seen an average rise by 10.99%, and six areas with polymer injection completed have witnessed an increase in recovery rate by over12%, among which, recovery rate increase in eastern area of northernLamadian oilfield has come to 12.54%.1.2Sound economic results and benefits.Water injection rate has shown a significant decrease in polymer flooding application as compared with that in water driving, thus it has improved the utilization ratio of injected water. Totally, water injection reduction in the 25 commercial areas has added up to 1.93×108 m3, by assuming that clean water per cubic meter values 0.44 US$, the cost can be cut down by 84×106 US$. Based on statistics of data from commercial pilot areas in Lanan-1 and North-1-Duanxi, water consumption per ton of oil has shown a drop of 21.8 m3, accounting for cost drop by 3.80 US$ per ton of oil. The accumulative oil production in commercial polymer flooding areas amounts to 356.6×106 barrels, accounting for cost drop of 189.60×106 US$, so with only these two items being considered, cost cut in commercial polymer areas has summed up to 273.7× 106 US$, average cost cut is 39.06×106 US$.It is estimated that with polymer flooding in all of the 25 areas being completed, the cost cut will reach 641.95 ×106 US$.By studying the 6 areas which have been polymer flooded since 1996, we see that most of them have entered into the subsequent water driving stage. By December 2002, average polymer consumption had reached 725.7pV •mg/L, polymer concentration been 1027.1mg/L, comprehensive water-cut had come back to 94.37%, accumulative oil production been 161×106 barrels, accumulative oil production growth been 89×106 barrels, average enhanced oil recovery rate been 10.99%, oil production growth per ton of polymer been 587.78 barrels (table 1). By taking in real data from polymer flooding areas in 2005, we have conducted economic appraisals over the current 6 polymer flooding areas; the input-output ratio has turned out to be 1: 6.83.
