V Puppis is an interesting system formed by a B 1 V primary and a B3 secondary. The latter fills its lobe of the critical equipotential surface and gives rise to a gaseous stream toward the following hemisphere of the primary component. The available data suggest that the secondary component, which is the less massive of the two stars, is probably a subgiant.
