WS 2 nanosheets–carbon composites (WS 2 /C) were synthesized through a simple two‐step process including ball‐milling and sulfidation. When applied as anode materials for sodium‐ion batteries and lithium‐ion batteries, WS 2 /C composites deliver a high reversible sodium storage capacity of 270 mA h g −1 at 100 mA g −1 and a high reversible lithium storage capacity of 322 mA h g −1 at 200 mA g −1 after 100 cycles. The improved electrochemical performance of WS 2 /C compared with the bare WS 2 can be attributed to the synergic effects between WS 2 and Super P carbon black matrix, which can offer a beneficial conductivity environment for electron transfer and accommodate stress from the volume change during cycling.
