Preprint proposes a morphology test predicting lesion size in Degos disease based on vascular anatomy, inviting independent evaluation.
This preprint proposes a quantitative morphology test for Degos disease (malignant atrophic papulosis, MAP) based on spatial pattern-formation theory. The paper asks whether the characteristic porcelain-white papules of Degos disease exhibit anatomical scaling behavior consistent with a characteristic wavelength relationship: λ* = π√2 R₀ where R₀ represents a characteristic local microvascular radius. The work is framed as a pre-registered, falsifiable morphology-analysis proposal using published clinical photographs and ImageJ measurements. The hypothesis predicts that papules in anatomical regions with larger characteristic vascular beds should exhibit larger lesion diameters than papules in regions with smaller vascular beds. The paper does not claim proof of mechanism, does not propose clinical treatment recommendations, and does not assert that the proposed framework is established. Exploratory discussion of systemic progression timing and published anticoagulant outcomes is included strictly as background context. This work is intended as a speculative quantitative morphology study and an invitation for independent evaluation using existing dermatological image data.
