To organize this information into useful recommendations for the clinician, in 2025 the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association updated and compiled the data into the Guideline for the Management of Patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes. Topics covered include the evaluation of ACS, medical therapies and reperfusion strategies, management of cardiogenic shock and complications, antiplatelet approaches, and postdischarge management. Given the size and breadth of the guideline, this article summarizes key recommendations that are relevant to anesthesiologists and critical care physicians caring for these patients.
