Editorial commentary suggests the biceps smash technique's potential in rotator cuff repair augmentation, implying a need for further studies.
Augmentation of rotator cuff repairs has been suggested via a variety of techniques, including autograft, allograft, xenograft, and synthetic materials. Autograft is desirable due to the lack of antigenicity and low cost. Although the biceps smash technique represents an autograft technique that fulfills these requirements, high‐level clinical studies are still necessary to substantiate its use.
