Recently, the strongly fluorescent benoxaprofen (BOP) molecule was described as chiral fluorescence label. Also S‐naproxen (NAP), like BOP a non‐steroidal antiinflammatory drug from the group of 2‐arylpropionic acids, can be used as derivatization reagent for primary and secondary amines and alcohols, if activated to the corresponding acyl chloride. The synthesis of derivatives as well as chromatographic systems for the separation of the diastereomeric products are described.
