Architecture, an art form that combines practicality and creativity, shares a similar design development process with fashion, making it a valuable source of inspiration for diversifying fashion designs. This study examines the formative characteristics of Antoni Gaudí’s architecture and proposes women's formalwear designs inspired by those characteristics using generative AI. The research method involves first analyzing the formal properties of Gaudí’s iconic works—Casa Vicens, Palau Güell, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà. From this analysis, two generative AI models were selected through a comparative review of existing generative AI applications. Next, keywords and reference images derived from Gaudí’s architectural qualities were used to visualize fashion designs through iterative prompt engineering with AI image generation models. The study identified appropriate AI models for each stage of the fashion design process. Gemini proved highly effective in the design concretization stage, accurately capturing material textures and suggesting trendy silhouettes and decorative details. Conversely, RunwayML excelled in the concept development and ideation stages, producing highly creative designs that may be challenging to realize physically. This research indicates that applying generative AI to the fashion design process can enhance industrial efficiency by reducing time and costs. Furthermore, future studies should focus on developing fashion prompts tailored to variables such as age and gender.
