Lens facilitates an essential function in the dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) such as bandwidth and directivity increase and the permittivity of the dielectric can also be taken into account for controlling the radiation of the antenna. Liquid can be recognized as a good choice for designing a controllable dielectric for the DRA. Liquids like water and ethanol can be recognized for developing DRA for THz application utilizing microfluidic as explained in this paper. Additionally, liquids are interesting as example material because we can control the level and consequently the material quality for designing reconfigurable antenna. The microstrip slot antenna with a split ring resonator and meandered feed is taken as the basis antenna to achieve high Q-factor and the proposed antenna is used to improve the various parameters of the antenna and it is noted that filling ratio of the channels contributed to reconfigurable antenna. This novel structure is also noted that it can function as sensor for material detection recognizing the various types of liquids by determining its sensitivity of the sensor in the range of 0.5 - 1 THz.
