Reports TFA-mediated coupling of iodonium ylides with aryl thioethers, suggesting an efficient method for C–S bond formation in synthetic chemistry.
Herein, we report a trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)-mediated coupling of iodonium ylides with aryl thioethers for the direct formation of C–S bonds. This protocol accommodates diverse iodonium ylides derived from cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and various substituted aryl thioethers. The reaction proceeds under mild, transition metal-free conditions and exhibits good functional group tolerance. Scalability and downstream derivatization further highlight its practical utility in synthetic chemistry.
