A deviated septum, inferior turbinate hypertrophy, and nasal valve dysfunction are the most common causes of chronic nasal obstruction, and septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction surgery are among the most frequently performed procedures in ENT. Unfortunately, surgical interventions to eliminate chronic nasal obstruction often fail to achieve the desired result, with nasal congestion persisting or recurring over time. One cause of static dysfunction of the internal nasal valve may be a narrowed pyriform aperture, which can eliminate the success of functional rhinosurgical procedures. This article presents the case of successful surgical treatment of chronic nasal obstruction using pyriform aperture enlargement.
