Rapid review synthesizes CRISPR-Cas applications in potato trait enhancement, indicating progress in biotechnology.
This rapid review aims to synthesize the current landscape of primary research applying CRISPR-Cas technology to improve agronomic traits in cultivated potato (Solanum tuberosum L.). The review will map target traits, edited genes, CRISPR systems, delivery methods, and reported phenotypic outcomes from studies published between 2015 and 2025. The protocol was registered on Zenodo on 13.05.2026. All eligibility criteria, the search strategy, and the synthesis plan were developed a priori; publication of the protocol occurred before full text screening and data extraction.
