Extensive broadening of the lines of an NMR multiplet induces errors in the measurement of the coupling constants. In order to make corrections to the measured splittings in these cases, analytical expressions for doublets and triplets and correction curves are given. The practical example of 3 J (POCC) in alkyl phosphate micelles shows the necessity for such corrections when slow molecular motions occur.
