This study examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on collaborative learning dynamics, focusing primarily on AI's effect on student-teacher interaction and group work efficiency. The primary objective is to assess how AI influences coordination, communication, and role distribution within student groups during collaborative tasks. A secondary aim is to explore AI's role in enhancing individual student engagement and academic performance. The study involved 120 students from Puyang Vocational and Technical College, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group utilized AI tools, including personalized learning, automated assessment, and group work facilitation, while the control group followed traditional learning methods. Data were collected through surveys and performance assessments before and after a three-month intervention. The primary endpoint was the improvement in group interaction quality, specifically focusing on coordination, role distribution, and student engagement. Results indicated that AI integration significantly improved group interaction, with experimental group students reporting substantial increases in coordination and interaction (29% to 65%) compared to modest improvements in the control group (30% to 32%). Additionally, AI tools enhanced academic performance, with the experimental group showing a marked improvement in task completion and problem-solving skills. The study concludes that AI positively impacts collaborative learning dynamics by enhancing group coordination and task organization, though it also highlights the need for a balanced approach to preserve critical thinking and independent learning.
