Geophysical survey identifies magnetic disturbances on land for poultry unit planning in County Durham, indicating site characteristics.
Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Ian Pick Associates on behalf of WS Hewitson to undertake a geophysical survey using magnetometry on land at Hauxley Farm, Great Stainton, County Durham, prior to submission of a planning application for a poultry unit. The geophysical survey has identified significant areas of magnetic disturbance, generally around the margins of the site, and typical of the accumulation of detritus at field edges or adjacent metal fencing.
