To evaluate the effectiveness of various interventions aimed at increasing adherence to iron chelation therapy in individuals with sickle cell disease or thalassaemia.
Included 16 randomized controlled trials (N=1525) evaluating psychological, educational, and medication interventions.
Assessments of trial eligibility and data extraction were performed by three authors independently.
Quality of evidence rated using GRADE.
Adherence rates were high, ranging from 71.6% to 100% across different medications.
