The paper deals with the issue of transmission of the Chan Chart, i.e.Zhonghua chuan xindi chanmen shizi chengxi tu in the Tangut state.Comparing the Tangut translation of the text with the existing versions of the text, we conclude that the Tangut translation was based on the Liao version of the text.This is in tenor with the general framework of Sinitic Buddhism in Xixia, which belonged to the same mainstream as Buddhism in the Liao.
