The article examines the process of proving abuse of power and official position, aimed at establishing the methods of committing a crime, the damage caused, motives, goals and identifying the facts of forgery of documents and the presence of accomplices. The signs of the act indicating the receipt of benefits and measures to control property related to the crime are analyzed in detail. The methods of effective investigation are described, including the creation of operational groups, conducting parallel actions on operational investigative measures and attracting experts to analyze specific documents. It is noted the importance of conducting searches, seizures and seizure of property to prevent the destruction of evidence. Special attention is paid to the procedure for obtaining testimony, including tactical recommendations for conducting interrogations, analyzing the personalities of the interrogated and their relationships with suspects. The features of obtaining evidence from banking and financial institutions are considered, as well as the need for urgent intervention by investigators to ensure the collection and preservation of physical evidence. The importance of conducting accounting and forensic examinations, as well as monitoring and evaluating the work of the organization for a successful investigation is emphasized. The authors propose changes to the Criminal Procedure Code of Mongolia to improve the effectiveness of the investigation of crimes related to official abuse.
