Demonstrates improved aerodynamic and structural performance of wind turbine blades, suggesting cost efficiency.
The purpose of this study is to optimize the energy efficiency of a wind turbine blade and reduce its cost. In this paper, we define several optimization targets such as maximizing Cl / Cd ratio and minimizing the deformation and mass of the blade. To solve this multi-objectives optimization problem, we used the ant colony heuristic optimization method on a blade model computed by the BEM and the FEM methods. The optimization results are compared with the results obtained by the BEM method.
