Objective: This bibliometric analysis aims to map the scientific landscape of human polymorphisms in dental caries by identifying key trends, prolific contributors, and research collaborations. Material and Methods: On July 23, 2024, the Web of Science Core Collection was searched using the topic query topic search (TS)=(polymorphism) AND TS=(dental caries), without year or language restrictions. The search retrieved 312 records after document-type filtering and title/abstract screening, 173 studies focusing on human polymorphisms and dental caries were included. Bibliometric analyses were performed in VOSviewer using co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence, and source co-citation mapping. Results: Publication output increased markedly after 2010 and peaked between 2015 and 2018. The United States and Brazil were the leading contributors, while China and Türkiye also showed substantial research output. Vieira was the most productive author and occupied a central position in co-authorship networks. Keyword and co-citation analyses identified enamel formation genes, tasterelated genes, early childhood caries, and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-based susceptibility research as the dominant thematic areas. Conclusion: This study shows that research on human polymorphisms and dental caries has expanded substantially since 2010 and is primarily centered on enamel formation genes, taste-related genes, early childhood caries, and SNP-based susceptibility. While the United States leads the field, growing contributions from Brazil, China, and Türkiye reflect the increasing internationalization of this research area.
