SUMMARY.— Fourteen patients with previously therapy‐resistant, severe chronic, infiltrated psoriasis were treated with the alkylating compound, thio‐tepa 0.4% in soft ointment P.N.* with occlusive dressing for 8 h each day. Complete clearing of the psoriatic lesion occurred in 11 of the patients after an average of 19 days treatment. In 2 patients it was necessary to discontinue the treatment owing to leukopenia after 14 and 20 days respectively. Two patients developed moderate local irritation, which did not, however, necessitate the cessation of treatment. It is concluded that thio‐tepa 0.4% in soft ointment P.N. is an effective agent for the treatment of otherwise resistant psoriatic plaques.
