The national paradigm of national security envisages consideration of security as a systemic phenomenon with its own structure, the components of which are relatively autonomous areas (subspecies): state, military, economic, energy, information, demographic and other types of security, which are interconnected and interdependent. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state of research in the field of economic security of the State, to consider and prioritize threats and challenges to economic security in terms of their significance and impact on the national security of the State. The study includes a review of definitions of economic security; identification of potential threats and challenges to the economic security of the State; identification of ways to overcome the identified threats to economic security using the method of mutual comparisons. It is proposed to consider economic security as the core of national security. The article is devoted to the study of the problems of ensuring economic security, which are characterized by new aspects of their theoretical content in connection with the transformation of the Ukrainian economy under the influence of globalization and European integration, as well as geopolitical instability due to Russian aggression against Ukraine. New trends and patterns that determine the institutional support for the modernization of the Ukrainian economy are an integral aspect of economic security. Modern problems of ensuring the economic security of the state, preventing new challenges and sustainable development of the Ukrainian state and society require scientific substantiation.
