This chapter aims to give an overview of advanced meta-analytic techniques. We will discuss multivariate meta-analysis, three-level meta-analysis, and robust variance estimation, highlighting their strengths and applications. We will also compare these methods to show their similarities and differences. In the second half of the chapter, we will introduce the concept of meta-analytic structural equation modeling (MASEM) and focus on two approaches: two-stage SEM and one-stage MASEM. These approaches combine a pool of correlation matrices and fit structural equation models on the pooled correlation matrix. Finally, we will briefly present the innovative meta-analytic Gaussian network aggregation method. This method combines MASEM and network analysis to integrate and analyze network results. We will use some examples to illustrate the procedures. We will conclude this chapter by highlighting some future directions.
