Ethnographic research is the product of multiple practices. Yet, only a few of them are addressed in methodological textbooks or seminars. The contribution introduces a special issue on practices of ethnographic research. It reflects on the relation between practices and methods and highlights the consequences of the practice perspective for epistemology, methodology, reflexivity, teaching, and social studies of the social sciences.
