Singapore comes into the category of the so-called `developing' countries and this article is written in the hope that a brief account of the scientific and technological aspects of the educational system in Singapore will be of interest to some readers of this journal. Another article on some of the problems of scientific research and industrial development in Singapore is appearing in Physics Bulletin (Cracknell 1968).
