Abstract What, if anything, is moral experience? I will argue that moral experience is a distinctive type of perceptual experience—affectively assisted perceptual experience—that, in a way to be explained, provides privileged access to moral reality. I will go on to suggest some ways in which moral experience, so understood, may prove theoretically useful.
