At present, the positioning method of smart trash cans is GPS positioning, but this technology is limited to outdoor positioning, and indoor positioning is inaccurate, which increases the difficulty of garbage collection. Aiming at the problem of large error and poor stability of the indoor positioning system of the trash can location information in the actual scene, an indoor trash can location method based on radio frequency identification is proposed. The method is to improve the indoor positioning accuracy of positioning by using four card readers to form a rectangular area and dividing four working conditions and two trash cans with electronic labels. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively improve indoor positioning. Compared with the traditional positioning algorithm, the error is reduced by 21%.
