Key Points

  • To pre-register a verification process for the empirical claims made in the Archaeorientation framework regarding clustering of ancient structure orientations.
  • Pre-registration document created prior to data access to ensure analysis integrity.
  • SHA-256 hash of the database file provided for verification against future studies.
  • Deposit on Bitcoin blockchain and Zenodo for immutability and transparency.
  • Analysis has not yet been performed.
  • Results and conclusions will be released later via a GitHub repository after notifying the data owner.

Abstract

Pre-registration document for an independent Monte Carlo verification of the central empirical claim in Mario Buildreps' "Archaeorientation" framework — that the orientations of ~993 ancient pyramids, temples, and megalithic structures cluster around five proposed paleopole positions along the 47°W meridian. This document was written, GPG-signed, OpenTimestamped on the Bitcoin blockchain, and deposited on Zenodo BEFORE the database file was opened, so that the analysis methodology cannot be revised after seeing the data. The SHA-256 hash of the exact database file to be analyzed is embedded in §4 of the PDF; readers obtaining the database from the data owner can verifybyte-for-byte equality with the file analyzed here. Analysis has not yet been performed. Code, results, and conclusions will be released subsequently via the linked GitHub repository, with the data owner given 14 days' notice before any public release. Repository: https://github.com/salahealer9/paleopole-orientation-verification Database SHA-256: 426dd95f4f1d62dbb2ea6b7be0bd2d1499834fb8b2c923ca59299384fd4ddb7c
