“Biomimetic” Cascade Reactions in Organic Synthesis: Construction of 4‐Oxatricyclo[4.3.1.0]decan‐2‐one Systems and Total Synthesis of 1‐ O ‐Methylforbesione via Tandem Claisen Rearrangement/Diels–Alder Reactions

Der präparative Nutzen Biosynthese-inspirierter Strategien für die Naturstoffsynthese wird einmal mehr demonstriert anhand der Titelreaktion, die für den Aufbau von Verbindungen mit dem 4-Oxatricyclo[4.3.1.0]decan-2-on-Ringsystem ausgehend von prochiralen aromatischen Vorstufen entwickelt wurde. Diese biomimetische Kaskadenreaktion wurde auf die Eintopf-Synthese von 1-O-Methylforbesion 2 aus dem prenylierten Xanthon 1 angewandt.
