Evaluates histopathological response to phosphorus-32 in pancreatic cancer, suggesting improved treatment strategies.
Despite increasing utilisation of brachytherapy for pancreatic cancer, literature on its histopathological effect is sparse. We evaluated the histopathological response and distribution of phosphorus‐32 ( 32 P) microparticles in resected locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC). Distribution was confined to tumour tissue, maximising therapeutic effect whilst minimising systemic and peri‐tumour exposure and potentially permitting optimisation of dosing and implantation strategies.
