A mechanism to generate the neutrinoless double-β decay process with quasi-Dirac neutrinos and no right-handed currents is described. Relatively heavy neutrinos can easily be made consistent with the constraints on the (ββ)_0ν rate. The proposed scheme for the violation of lepton number can in principle be distinguished from a Majorana mass in Δl=2 oscillation phenomena.
