Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 heightened geopolitical tensions between the Western countries and Russia, lowering global growth expectations due to uncertainty about the effects of the conflict, especially on the global supply chain. Conflicts have led to energy supply shocks, commodities and trade supply shocks, rising energy, food and commodities prices, thereby causing global inflation in many countries. This paper examines the global economic impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the month following the war.
