This study examined the experiences of students participating in collaborative making processes as part of preparing for a national programming and robotics tournament in Finland.Data were collected in three tournaments (2021-2023) through student interviews (n=40) and a self-report survey (n=58).Preliminary results suggest that students adapted their roles during making processes. The collaborative roles were coder, fabricator, designer, performer, and team leader.Perceived learning outcomes were classified into technological, social, and thinking skills.
