An experimental and theoretical study of the scattering of an electromagnetic beam which incides obliquely upon a metal-strip grating is presented in this work. The theoretical approach is based on the angular spectrum method of plane waves, and the integral expressions for the transmitted and reflected diffracted fields are derived, considering both TM- and TE-polarizations. The experimental study of the incidence on the grid of a microwave beam radiated by a horn antenna has been carried out. The incident beam is splitted into two beams corresponding with the fundamental and the first higher order Floquet harmonics excited on the grating. The experimental study has been focused on the non-specular deviations of the beam directions, and relevant angular deviations have been found for the scattered transmitted beams. Theoretical and measured data have been compared in order to validate the outlined technique.
