The work followed the procedures set out in the approved Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) for the project (ULAS 2024). All work was carried out in accordance with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) Standard and Guidance for Archaeological Field Evaluation (updated 2020) and adhered to their Code of Conduct (updated 2021). The ULAS Project Number (24-163) was employed as a temporary Accession Number to identify all records and artefacts prior to the allocation of a formal Accession Number by Warwickshire Museums Service. Fieldwork was carried out by ULAS on 12th February 2024 and was followed by post-excavation and reporting. The project involved the excavation of four 20m long trenches across the development area using a nine tonne tracked 360 excavator with a 1.60m ditching bucket. On arrival at the site the position of the trenches were marked out across the area and positioned over the footprints of the proposed buildings This report details the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) on land at Coventry Road, Wolvey, Warwickshire (NGR: SP 42973 87624). The work was undertaken on 12th February 2024 in advance of residential development and forming a follow up to work undertaken in 2019 by ULAS across the western part of the site. Four 20m long evaluation trenches were excavated across the site, targeting the footprints of the proposed buildings. All four trenches were negative for archaeological features.
