Video article demonstrates laparoscopic techniques for managing ectopic pregnancies in female reproductive systems, suggesting improved understanding of the procedures.
Dear Editor, The Samejima et al.’s[1] video article doi: 10.4103/gmit.gmit_16_23, is an interesting video article, and it is a confusing article to the readers as well. Samejima et al.[1] in the video demonstrate the laparoscopic technique of cornual resection during the management of cornual ectopic pregnancy (CEP). CEP usually describes pregnancy in a rudimentary uterine horn.[2-4] Samejima et al.’s[1]Figure 1 and video represent a cornual resection of an interstitial ectopic pregnancy (IEP). IEP usually describes pregnancy in the interstitial section of the fallopian tube.[5-8]Figure 1: Figure 1 represents a cornual resection of an interstitial ectopic pregnancy (not a cornual pregnancy). Reproduced from Samejima et al., GMIT 2023[ 1 ]CONCLUSION CEP usually describes pregnancy in a rudimentary uterine horn. IEP usually describes pregnancy in the interstitial section of the fallopian tube. Author contributions MO, IAA, and MAF are responsible for designing, literature review, and references update.
