The work was carried out according to the Written Scheme of Investigation (Section 2), which required: " A programme of historic building recording to Historic England Level 3 (HE 2016). " An archaeological Watching Brief on any groundworks KDK Archaeology Ltd carried out an Historic Building Recording, Historic Building Watching Brief and an Archaeological Watching Brief on Hollins Hall, Bragmans Lane, Flaunden, Hertfordshire in order to fulfil planning and listed building conditions for alterations to the property. Hollins Hall is a Grade II listed, L-shaped house built by George Sedwell in 1808. The two cottages he also had built to the east of the house were replaced in the 19th century when the property became a working farm. Since then, the barn built to the northeast of the house have been completely rebuilt and those to the southeast have been demolished. The house itself has also undergone considerable alterations, predominantly in the 1960s when the s-storey eastern section of the house and the attached outbuildings to the east of it were heightened; the latter to provide first floor rooms. The extension to the front of the house within the angle of the two ranges was undertaken at the same time. Some original features survive, including the staircase with its carved treads, the reed moulded cornice and early 19th century curved cupboard in Room G2, dado rail in the hall and the Regency doors. No features, finds or deposits were observed during the Watching Brief.
