W and Z Bosons as Fano Lattice Reconguration Resonances: Nucleon Wave Function Transitions, Decay as Stable-State Reconguration, and Branching Fractions from the Z3 Generation Structure

Paper LXVI established that SU (2) L gauge symmetry is never broken in the Fano framework, consistent with Elitzur's theorem. This raises the question: if no symmetry breaks and the W and Z are not Goldstone-eating gauge bosons, what are they physically? We propose and develop the answer: the W and Z bosons are resonant transition states of the Fano λ = 4 lattice mode during nucleon quark reconguration between stable wave forms. A nucleon is a specic stable conguration of three quark focal zones at Fano lattice nodes. Beta decay (n →p) is the transition between two distinct stable nucleon congurations neutron u, dd and proton uu, d requiring a quark isospin ip within the λ = 4 Fano doublet sector. The W −boson is not a particle that propagates freely and then mediates the decay; it is the transient resonant state of the Fano lattice during the quark doublet reconguration, exactly as a chemical transition state is the resonance between reactant and product molecular congurations. The W boson mass mW = g2v/2 is the energy of this transition state the barrier height of the λ = 4 Fano potential between the two stable congurations set by the condensation scale v of Paper LXIII. The Z boson is the neutral resonance: the λ = 4 Fano mode is excited without an isospin ip, returning the quark to its original conguration but with a transient change in the mixed λ = 4/λ = 0 Fano occupation. All decay branching fractions follow from the Z3 generation structure of Paper LVI: three equal leptonic channels (lepton universality from Z3 symmetry) and Nc = 3 colour copies of two hadronic doublet channels, giving B (W →ℓν) = 1/9 vs the observed 0. 1071. The Fermi constant GF = g2 2/ (4m2 W √ 2) is computed from Fano quantities to 0. 32% accuracy. Virtual W/Z exchange (as in nuclear beta decay or neutrino scattering) corresponds to a sub-threshold or tunneling Fano reconguration the Fano bridge forms and breaks without the resonance reaching full mass-shell energy.
