The scientific research is dedicated to the administrative and legal regulation of social protection for military personnel in Ukraine. The study examines the legislation regulating the legal status of military personnel, health care laws, and pension and housing legislation. The article incorporates the works of scholars who have studied the issues of social protection for military personnel. It is proposed to define social protection for military personnel as a system of guarantees that ensure the satisfaction of the material needs of military personnel in accordance with the specific nature of their service activities, their status in society, and the maintenance of social stability within the military environment. Administrative and legal regulation of social protection for military personnel involves the activities of authorities in establishing conditions for material support, providing social benefits, medical and rehabilitation support during their service. Specific measures of social protection for military personnel are provided in health care legislation, housing and labor laws, which define the legal status of military personnel. The conclusion is drawn that the system of social protection measures includes such components as appropriate remuneration for service, additional payments in case of participation in combat, benefits, various types of one-time monetary assistance and compensation, medical and housing support, labor guarantees in case of mobilization and demobilization. Proposals for amendments to the legislation are formulated to improve the administrative and legal regulation of social protection for military personnel in Ukraine. It is emphasized that the system of social protection for military personnel needs to be streamlined and a number of subordinate acts should be replaced with legislative ones. It is asserted that the concept of social protection for military personnel should be separated from the concept of legal protection and a new definition should be legislatively established.
