The competitive modern era emphasizes the vital role mathematics plays in almost every part of one's life, whether an examination, any level of studies or public life itself. However, kids sometimes fail to grasp even the basic mathematics level due to its fear, and one other fact is that the way technology is advancing, kids spend more time on their smartphones than reading a book. One can use it to their benefit by developing applications using the gamified approach to learn mathematical concepts. This would not only impart learning but also helps remove the fear of maths from the kids' mindset. The major problem faced by the researchers while developing a gamified version of a concept is the productivity, efficiency and efficacy of the application. This work presents the gamified approach of teaching the mathematical concept of fractions and their comparison via a game called Frac-O-Fy. The proposed game has successfully been deployed and assessed via a pre-post test scenario on ten kids aged 8–10. The feedback from five teachers has also been collected to check and support the efficacy and usability of the developed application. The results indicate the high effectiveness and usability with a twofold increment in the learning efficiency of understudies and equal elements of education and entertainment. There will be several levels to learn various mathematical concepts in future work.
