To help them and hospital librarians in selecting books in internal medicine and the related fields, the American College of Physicians has published at 3-yearly intervals beginning in 1973 a selective list of books and journals, "A Library for Internists" (1-5).Selection of BooksThe process of selecting titles for this sixth version of the list began with requests to publishers to nominate books for possible selection.
