We discuss the use of a semi-empirical method to obtain the energy values of 391 energy levels and dipolar-electric radiative transition probabilities in neutral aluminium. A relativistic Hartree–Fock atomic structure code allowing superposition of configurations coupled with a least-square fit procedure has been used for this purpose. Einstein coefficients for spontaneous emission not yet tabulated by the NIST atomic spectra database are reported for several transitions.
