The article examines the key challenges of interaction between business entities and government authorities in resource-based regions. The study analyzes cooperation frameworks, institutional obstacles, as well as institutional, economic, and political factors affecting collaboration efficiency. Special attention is given to the role of business associations as mediators in business-government dialogue. The paper highlights both formal and informal aspects of GR (Government Relations) strategies, along with institutional barriers hindering effective cooperation. Based on the research findings, recommendations are provided to improve business-government interaction mechanisms for sustainable development of resource-based regions.
