In previous research the process of change from 1 stage to the next was examined. Characteristics of disequilibrium were specified through analysis of stage transition in the moral judgments of adolescent subjects. In the present study, the same subjects were reinterviewed after a period of 1.5-2 years. The hypothesis that the conflicts and contradictions evident on the first testing would be resolved through structural reorganization was confirmed.
